We moved across the country last year and had to leave our smoker behind as there was no way to bring it without making everything we owned smell like smoke. I love my new home, but I miss the food in Texas. It became pretty clear to me that I’d have to make it myself if I wanted anything with a little flavor. (We moved to central pennsylvania for those wondering)We previously owned a pit boss pellet smoker of the same size. I knew I wanted to stick with a pellet smoker for the ease of use, but sticking with pit boss was out of the question, as we had issues with it from day one.I am very happy we decided to spend a little more for the brand. I’ve cooked on it a couple of times and am already noticing how much better it is at staying within less than 10° of the set temperature, the lack of hot spots, how much more user friendly it is, the quality of the components such as the computer and auger, and most importantly, how much better my food tastes. I had to babysit my food on my last smoker due to the hot spots and poor temperature regulation. It was frustrating and time consuming, but we kept it because it got the job done. Also appreciate the cute illustrations inside the box. We taped over the staples, made a cutout for the door, and our son has been using it as his little hangout spot.I’ve not owned it long enough to comment on longevity.
