Amazon Basics Multi-Purpose Drafting Spa Bar Stool with Back Cushion and Wheels, Black, 22.72″D x 22.72″W x 37.8″H
$ 24.49
I got this chair from an Amazon Warehouse deal, with the price being around $25 after everything was said and done (I honestly think that price was a mistake because I saw the no-back drafting stool for approx. the same price used). Just assembled it and it works as it should, although some of the holes weren’t drilled very well (hard to thread into.) But, it holds just fine it seems and I am very happy with what I got for $25. If you see this chair with the back for less than $30, it’s a steal and you should buy it. I think it’s okay for $50 as it is right now full price (not sure I’d pay $70 for the quality you get with this). Anything under $50 I think this chair is worth the money. This chair is also very nice because most rolling tools that come with backs sit on the high side (25-30 inches.) This one does not, it sits low like a stool without a back does, which is exactly what I was looking for.Pros:• It is GREAT for low to moderate height tasks. I have a low table that my 3d printers sit on and this will be excellent for me to be able to roll all the way around the table and stay seated. If you’re looking to do any work on a high table or area (over ~25-30 inches), this stool is NOT good for that.• It does not have one of those metal rings to put your feet on that other rolling stools with backs do. I dislike those as I find that those rings put my feet up too high most of the time, making me uncomfortable. (This is a subjective Pro)• The wheels roll very well so far.• The seat is pretty large diameter which I find rather comfortable, although this is no office chair in terms of comfort.• Very easy to assemble.• The back is not required to be attached, so you can take it off if you want and use this as without it in the future if your task would be better suited without the backCons:• Poorly threaded holes on the bottom of the seat (but the screws still worked well enough to hold everything together strongly so I didn’t take a star off)• Caster wheels will likely not fair very well on carpet or in very dirty environments in the long run.• Wheels do not lock.• Back is not adjustable, but I do not care about this.The bottom line is: this is an excellent rolling stool with a back that sits at lower heights. It does not feel like it’s on the brink of falling apart on me at all. If you purchase this, put it together properly, and don’t beat the hell out of it, it will likely last a long time. The only unknown is if the gas cylinder will last. I will not find out because I intend to use this stool at its lowest height, anyways. If you’re interested and see this for [...]
